Christian Education

Our Christian Education programs invite people of all ages to participate in the ministries and missions of Christian faith. These programs include Sunday church school, learning center events, adult education opportunities, second hour activities (following Sunday worship), youth fellowship and service programs, and confirmation instruction for ninth graders.

Church School is offered Sunday mornings, from September through mid June, for children ages kindergarten through grade 8.  Children generally begin their Sunday morning in Worship with their families, and leave for church school at a designated time.  Child care is available for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in our Toddler Room.

During our 2017-2018 program year, our Sunday School students will be learning about parts of the worship service and the scripture lesson being read each Sunday.  They will bring a letter home to their parents/guardians that day with questions and possible discussion topics that will promote conversation between the adults and the youth.  Those young people are pretty insightful!

Throughout the summer, there will be a structured activity offered for children through grade 5.

Wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to our confirmands and their mentors for their participation in a very gratifying, informative, and for me emotional (in case you didn’t notice) Confirmation journey.  It was truly delightful working with all of you:

Audrey Belliveau and Sarah Flythe,

Megan Perrotta and Carolyn McElravy,

Sarah Perrotta and Joyce Anderson,

and Jilly Sticca and Karen Canora

Thank you, Sharon

We will be having Vacation Bible Camp the week of July 9th – 13th at 9:00 a.m. – noon.

Friends . . . I am both delighted and disheartened to announce that our Christian Education Director, Sharon Chamberlain is retiring. Her last day is scheduled to coincide with the conclusion of Vacation Bible Camp, Friday, July 13th.  Sharon has been an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated employee and her retirement is our loss. We all wish Sharon the very best as she looks forward to spending more time with her family.

We will honor Sharon during fellowship on Children’s Sunday, June 10th.

Peace, Rev. Margret

I am hoping to schedule some “outside of church” activities for our middle/high schoolers.  A short brainstorming session was held recently to get some ideas of areas of interest.  Events will be posted here, in the newsletter and in the Sunday bulletin.  Sharon Chamberlain
