CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION . . . Sunday School has begun and will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, from September through June 11th, for children ages kindergarten through grade 8.  We will not be providing a Nursery program for infants and toddlers. However age-appropriate toys, that you can enjoy with your child, a rocking chair and activities are available in a corner of the narthex (area outside sanctuary).    



Our usual Bible study will have its final meeting of this session on Monday, November 14th, in the parlor from 6:45-7:45.  There will be a 2-week break and then Advent Bible Study will begin.

Nov. 30th, Dec. 7th ,14th and 21st

The season of Advent (from the Latin word “ad-venire” or “to come to”) is the four-week period leading up to Christmas. This is a time of waiting and preparing for the celebration of Christ’s birth and for Christ’s second coming.

I hope you will join me on Wednesday evenings as we explore the meaning of this season through prayer, reflection and Bible study. All are encouraged and welcome!

Sunday, November 13th Micah [1:3-5]; 5:2-5a; 6:6-8, God promises a ruler from Bethlehem; desires justice, kindness, walking humbly with God

Sunday, November 20th Isaiah 36:1-3, 13-20; 37:1-7; then 2:1-4, Assyria threatens Jerusalem and King Hezekiah despairs. Isaiah says the city will be saved and nations will beat swords into plowshares.

Sunday, November 27th Habakkuk 1:1-7; 2:1-4; 3: [3b-6], 17-19 The prophet, grieved by injustice/suffering, watches for God’s reply. Faith is a way of life, not an answer.
